THE SHORT ANSWER:

We go through your items and decide what could sell for our store. We then price each item and add it up to a total retail value. Of our retail value, you get 30% in cash -- immediately -- or 50% in store credit, which you can use at any time.

THE LONG ANSWER:

A lot of different factors go into whether or not we will be able to accept your item and if so, what we would price it at. The things we take into account are: season, style, brand, condition and our inventory levels.

Each of these factors is just as important as the other . . .

SEASON: We don't have an area for back-stock, so everything we buy has to be appropriate for the current season. For instance, we do not buy bathing suits in the winter or parkas in the summer.

STYLE: We have a specific idea in mind for our store -- that is, we want to be able to offer the most modern and trendy styles and affordable prices. That means we don't just buy in anything and we definitely don't buy in outdated styles. We don't buy vintage unless it is from before the 1980s and goes with the current trends. Although we don't only buy in designer items, we do look to designers to see what is currently being created and then we look to street style (via fashion magazines, blogs and kids on the actual street) to see how these trends are being adapted in real life.

BRAND: While we will consider items that did not originally cost a lot depending on their style, we obviously price designer items higher because there is a greater demand for them.  Usually we aim to price things around 20-30% of their original retail value.  However, if an item is worth much more than our normal prices, we are willing to take certain things on consignment so that the seller can recieve a greater profit.

CONDITION: We only buy in items that are in a wearable condition. We don't wash or repair anything before it goes out on the floor, so if it is missing buttons, has a broken zipper, is covered in stains or is ripped, torn or broken in any way -- we won't be able to buy it in.

INVENTORY LEVELS: As mentioned above, we don't have an area for back-stock. This means that if our racks are currently full, we will have to be extra selective on what we will and won't take in. If we have too many t-shirts, we will put a halt on buying t-shirts and so forth. It's always a good idea to call us to see if there are any items we are currently over- or under-stocked on.

There are also a few things that we do not take and they are as follows:

  • Business attire: suits, especially suits for women.
  • Formal wear: no gowns, evening dresses or tuxedos.
  • Conservative styles: we tend to focus on up-to-the-minute trends, not "classic" styles.
  • Loungewear/lingerie
  • Full-length fur or leather coats (however we do take certain fur and leather jacket styles, call us for more info)
  • Athletic wear: no running suits, sweatpants, sports bras, etc.
  • Children's clothing.

And on the other side, here is a list of designers we love:

  • Marc by Marc Jacobs
  • Topshop
  • Alexander Wang
  • Fred Perry
  • Cheap Monday
  • Surface To Air
  • Opening Ceremony
  • Helmut Lang
  • 10 Deep
  • The Hundreds
  • A.P.C.
  • Supreme

The best way to understand our store is to come check it out. Then you will see the type of merchandise we sell and what it's priced at, so you will be better prepared if you choose to sell.

If you do decide to sell, please remember to bring a goverment issued ID (license, passport, non-driver ID). We take items on a walk-in basis every day.  Monday through Saturday we buy from 12-7 and Sundays we buy from 1-5.  Currently, we cannot accept donations of your unwanted items (i.e. the items that we cannot take) and, unfortunately, we don't do house calls. Also, we have a three bag limit per customer, per day. Feel free to call (850 350 4410) or  email us if you have any questions that are not answered here.
